Free Passes to Local Museums and Parks

Passes are available to any Pillsbury Free Library cardholder. To request a pass, contact the library at 603-456-2289 or via our contact page. For New Hampshire State Parks and for some museums, we can email you a pass to print. We strongly suggest you also reserve in advance for shows or tours, especially during school vacations.

We also have nature discovery kits in backpacks for children and adults. The children’s pack created by Sandra Martin for the Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum‘s Medicine woods trail has activities designed to get children engaged in observing the natural world. The Library Nature Bags contain durable featherweight weatherproof identification guides for anything from animals to trees to bugs. The seashore bag includes beachcomber guides to shells and shore-land plants and animals. Check one out when you borrow our NH State Parks Pass or just want to go hiking.

NH State Parks  –  Rollins State Park is the closest, at the top of Kearsarge Mountain Road. This pass provides entry to most NH State parks for 2 adults and up to 4 children, normally $4 per adult, $2/child. NH residents 65+ no charge. NOT valid at Wallis Sands, Hampton Beach State Park, Flume Gorge, or Cannon Mountain Tramway, camping fees, or metered parking. .

Museums and Attractions

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover NH. Two floors of unique, interactive, hands-on exhibits where you can explore Nature, STEM, Pretend Play, Art, World Cultures, and more for ages 0–10. Half price for up to 4 people with Library Pass. Closed Mondays except some holidays.

Pass: Free entry to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord NH for up to 8 people per day; (4 per pass) Planetarium shows are $7 extra per person. www.starhop.com/

The biggest space museum in the Northeast, McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center (& Planetarium) now includes most of the Mt. Washington Observatory Museum collection and a Science Playground (seasonal). Located at N.H. Technical Institute, Concord, NH.  HOURS: Check starhop.com for current details. (Wed – Sunday, more days during vacation weeks).

New England Aquarium, Boston. Coupon for 1/2 price entry WEEKDAYS with date-specific coupon for up to 4 people. Age 2 and under free. In 2026, dates will be Feb. 1 – May 22 daily, and weekdays only from May 23 to Sept. 8.

Museum of Science in Boston. One pass allows four (4) visitors to enter the Museum at a discounted rate of 50% off per person. Children under 3 enter free. One pass per day.

Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Our special promo code reduces the entrance fee to $15 per adult and $10 per youth 7-17 yrs old (usual cost for adults is $30, $14 for youth.) Up to 2 Adult and 4 youth per use. Age 0-6 free. mfa.org/visit

Free Tours of the Mount Washington Weather Station on the summit, for 2 adults and their children (usually $17 non-members). All season, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm – except Wednesdays. Reserve ahead! Trip to summit not included. Auto Road discount: one passenger rides free. Contact library for codes. Cog Railway tickets: Buy One Get One Free adult ticket (June, Weekdays only).

Note: on the second Saturday of each month Currier admission is free for NH residents. Entry to the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings Zimmermann House, and Usonian Automatic is NOT included.

New Hampshire Telephone Museum One Depot St., Warner. Library Pass gets Free entry for up to 2 people per pass, 2 passes available per day to this charming history museum. Free parking. Open days vary by season. but usually Tues. – Sat. May- October, 10 am – 4 pm weekdays, 10 am – 2 pm Saturdays. Check website for other months.

Warner Firefighters’ Museum. Under the Telephone Museum. Saturdays, May – October and by appointment.

Warner Firefighter’s Museum is located under the N.H. Telephone Museum. Tours are available Saturdays 10 am – 3 pm from the door near the bell in the parking area of the Telephone Museum. Created to preserve 172 years of Warner’s firefighting history, the museum has a wide assortment of artifacts.

John Hay Estate at the Fells Library passes enable free admission and house tours for two adults and any children in the household. Multiple passes may be used per day. 456 Route 103A in Newbury, NH.
